PAYM Chingay 2011 Sneak Peek - Main Performance Music

The song.

My Chingay experience

Ooops...Sorry...I forgot to post about my Chingay so now lets talk about it.
*ahem*Chingay to me is already a fun event well taking part in it its of course BETTER!
Taking part in Chingay gave me self confidence and as well as finding myself liking dancing a lot.
Chingay also allows me to see how active or how shy my classmates can be.Surprisingly,I
find that my classmates are very active in this event not much grumble having to dance for a big crowd. They are not even nervous! I'm so proud of my class .
Would I attend Chingay again if I have the chance?Answer: Of Course! It is so fun that I still have not forget all the late nights and dancing I have!
Now really~end~(I hope.)

The continued(chingay part too!)

The Chingay Parade became an evening-to-night parade in 1990.
Firecrackers were let off the first time in the parade that year since the ban.
Despite the authorities allowing the firecrackers to be let off under some
safety procedures,it was decided that the Chingay be preserved. In 2008,
the parade was held at City Hall. For 2009 parade, it was around the Parliament
House with the performance going round the Padang. That year was the also
the first year the telecast on television was delayed for one day.In 2010,
the parade took place on the F1 Marina Bay Street Circuit route.

CHINGAY...

What is Chingay about? What is Chingay for? Who celebrate Chingay?

These are the questions we normally ask when we talk about Chingay.

*In a formal voice*

Now I'm going to talk to you about Chingay and answer all your question.

Chingay was part of the Chinese New year festivities. The word Chingay itself is originated from shoutheast asia which means a decorated miniature stage or float. The date of the Chingay was held with the birthday of Chinese dieties or procession
of the Goddess of Mercy or as the chinese say,Guanyin.Chingay is originated from China. It is a street art
where the performer balances a giant flag which is about 25ft to 32ft and about 60 pounds in weigh.
Today,in Malaysia and Singapore,Chingay is no longer performed by only Chinese but Malays and Indians as well.Chingay traces its origins to a float decorating competition held in Penang 1905.This practice of float decoration spread to the rest of Malaya by the 1960s,and eventually became associated with the Chinese New Year.On 4 Febuary 1973, the first Singapore Chingay parade was held in partly as a result of the ban of firecrackers a year earlier in 1972 as a result of fire hazards. This ban was viewed unfravourably despite the safety issues involved.
To be continued...
Bye Bye for now~
